Rachakonda police blow up narcotics and synthetic drug lab; 2 arrested
Pulicherla Srinivas Reddy, a chronic drug trafficker, graduate of B Pharma and Nampally Lenin Babu, a senior scientist in the R&D department of many pharmaceutical companies, synthesized methamphetamine at the IDA Uppal laboratory, The Indian Express reported.
Bhongir Area Special Operations Team and Uppal Police searched the laboratory of the two accused and confiscated 53 grams of methamphetamine, 3.6 kg of liquid drug, 12 bottles of 500ml methylamine, a transfer of LSD, a 0.5 g cocaine capsule and 50 kg of hydrochloride during a joint operation. The police had information about the manufacture of narcotic compounds at the duo’s company, Akshaj Molecular Research Private Limited, The Indian Express reported.

Srinivas Reddy had previously been arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB-Chennai) in 2010 and by NCB Hyderabad in 2014 for manufacturing and distributing methamphetamine. He was on the run in two identical cases filed against him at Keesara Police Station in 2015 and Uppal Police Station in 2018, police say. He had collaborated with Nampally Lenin Babu to produce methamphetamine to distribute to Napoleon in Chennai.
Lenin Babu, a graduate in organic chemistry from Warangal, worked in the R&D departments of numerous pharmaceutical companies before launching Akshaj Molecular Research Private Limited in 2014. He paid Rs 27,000 per month in rent for this hangar which served as a laboratory. Authorities say he met Srinivas Reddy in 2017 and he was arrested in 2018 by Uppal police on suspicion of manufacturing methamphetamine.
